🌬️The Run the Blades running festival took place on the Glasgow Fair weekend at the Whitelee Windfarm on the Eaglesham Moor. The location provides some spectacular scenery and some challenging rolling hills.
The terrain is mainly on paths the first of the events, the 10k, took place on the Friday (14/07). It was followed by the flagship 50k race on the Saturday with the festival closed following the half marathon on the Sunday.
🌱 Trail runs have grown enormously in popularity, and five Harriers took on the challenge.
🤩 On Saturday, Mark Shanta had an excellent race and finished in 4:25:32. David Gould also took on the 50k challenge and finished in a creditable 5:54:45.
💙 Sunday's challenging half marathon saw Stephanie Tinney run 1:52:14. Chloe Murray, who has been attending the club on a regular base since the Spring, ran well to finish in 2:05:16, just in front of Lisa Rowand, who finished in 2:05:51.
