ππ The 6th running of the eagerly awaited Mob Match took place at Pollok Park on Saturday the 12th of February and was won, again, by the Road runners - congratulations! πππ»
ππ» It was great to all be back together again after last yearβs virtual race. The individual winner last year was the Harrierβs Miguel Delgado who had ran the virtual event from Jaen in Spain πͺπΈ. Miguel has sadly now moved back to Spain, so missed this yearβs physical event. However, we look forward to welcoming him back to Scotland and catching up he competes in the Harrier vest π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ at the Lindsay's National Cross Country Championships in two weeksβ time at Callendar Park.
π₯This year, the individual event was won by Greg Templeton and it was the sixth time the Bellahouston Harriers have taken the first position π. Out of the top 10 finishers - 6 were Harriers, 3 were Road Runners, and 1 was a member of another club:
1st Greg Templeton - 16:38 PB π« 3rd Iain Carroll - 16:53 5th Fraser Armstrong - 17:20 PB π« 6th Scott Mason - 17:23 PB π« 7th Darren McQuade - 17:34 9th Stuart Miller - 17:38
ππ» A shout-out goes to Iain who was taken out on a lot of debris at the very busy start line. However, he got up to complete the race - about 30 seconds outside his recent Pollok PB. Great racing spirit! πͺπ» The first 10 lady finishers on Saturday were 4 Road Runners, 2 Harriers, and 4 from other clubs:
3rd Jenny Brown - 20:35 5th Emma Rogerson - 21:15 PB π«
ππ» In a remarkable day of racing 10 Harriers broke 20 minutes as did 9 Road Runners. 19 Harriers broke 23 minutes as did 23 Road Runners. It was another cracking day for both clubs and the Harriers extended an invite to head back to our club house for post-run drinks tea and coffee βοΈ. We look forward to next yearβs event!
