π£ The Jimmy Irvine 10k was back after a 2-year absence. It is traditionally one of the last road races in the West of Scotland prior to Christmas. The race was once again very well organised with an excellent buffet π₯ͺπ§ post-race.
π³ Given the constraints of Bellahouston Park, the route is a bit twisty with a number of hairpin bends. The weather for Sundayβs race was an amazing 15 degrees and some participants were complaining about the heat βοΈ which was incredible for November!
π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ 40 Harriers entered with the vast majority running on the day. The Harriersβ men grabbed two top 10 places. Iain Carroll was 7th in a time of 34:25 and first V40. Fraser Armstrong was the second Harrier home in 10th place with a time of 34:48.
ππ» John Carr, Scott Mason and Donald MacLaren were 15th, 16th and 17th respectively. Greig Corr was the 6th Harrier in the top 20.
π Congratulations to Neil Boyd and Felix Lembke on their first run in a Harriers vest.
ππΌββοΈ Kristina Greig was the 12th female and first Harrier in a time of 42:09. Claire McCormick was the second female Harrier in 45:16. Both Marianne Wilson and Karen Watt finished in the first 25.
π Two members, Stephanie Tinney and Tabea Sander, ran in a Harriers vest for the first time.
ππ» Well done to all who ran and a big thank you to the Bellahouston Road Runners for hosting another successful event!
