🌳 The 59th Tom Scott Memorial Road Races took place at Strathclyde Park on the 2nd of April 2023. Some late adjustments to the route were made due to 🚸 construction work within the park.

🌞 The sold-out race was run in excellent conditions, providing a true test of the effectiveness of participants running fitness going into the spring season.

💙 18 Harriers participated, three of whom broke the 1 hour barrier. John Carr continued his good form and was first Harrier home in 56:51. Followed by Adam Stark and Nick Holtum who both grabbed a PB with Rhys Williams unlucky just missing the 1 hour barrier. Paul Clawson and Gary Watt ran strongly on the day.

⏱️ The first female Harrier was Kristina Greig with a new PB of 67:29. 5 Harriers ran between 70 and 80 minutes: Claire McCormack, Garry Henderson, Iain Buckley, Pauline Henderson and Angela Campbell.

The 5 other Harriers who competed were Stephanie Rudd, Michael McNamara, Anne Williamson, Karen Rosling, Lisa Robertson and June MacLeod.

The Round the Loch 6k race was impacted by the construction works and was about 500 metres longer as a result. This did not dampen the enthusiasm of the five Harriers who participated. Fraser Armstrong grabbed 🥈 2nd place in 21:41 and Gordon Gallacher. Jacqueline Glass, Gillian Glass and Deirdre Hoyle all ran well.

🙌 Well done to all who ran! 📷 Bobby Gavin (# 1-7) & members (rest)
