π July brings a variety of events on the Scottish running Calendar and allows Harriers to take on the challenges of running races of different lengths and terrains.
In early July, the ever-popular Moffat 15k trail race took place with three Harriers making the 50 mile journey south to compete.
All Harriers ran very well on the day with π₯ Emily Renfrew taking First female home in 60: 02. π₯ Matt OβConnor grabbed a podium place in 3rd with 54:11 whilst David Gemmell ran a PB on the night.
The Meadows 1 mile relay race took place in Edinburgh on the 24th July and two Harriers participated. Matthew Brown ran the first leg in 5:10, which was a mere three seconds slower than his last attempt in 2011, while Katherine Hylands, in very good form this year, ran an excellent 2 second π ΏοΈπ ±οΈ of 5:37. After his efforts on the first leg, Matthew ran the 3rd in 5:35.
ποΈThe Millport 10 miler is a run which has attracted many Harriers over the years and this year eight Harriers took part.
It was a good day to be a Harrier with π₯ Emily Renfrew finishing First Female in 63:21, Kristina Greig 6th in 70:15 and Karen McQuarrie 7th in 70:47. The excellent running by the Bellahouston ladies resulted in a π first team prize.
π₯ Matt O Connor finished on the podium 3rd with a run of 55:34. David Macintosh was 8th in 59:09 and Adam Stark 11th in 60:31.
π The remaining two Harriers competing were Chris Morris (70:47) and Michael Meehan (88:01). As always thanks to the host clubs and the volunteers.
