đł This Saturday morning saw the seventh race of our Winter Championship take place at the scenic Drumpellier Country parkrun. For many members, this was their first experience of this well-run Parkrun; a two-loop course encompassing a lovely mix of tarmac and compact trail paths winding through the woodlands.
âď¸A total of thirty-nine Harriers toed the line on what was a great morning for running - dry with temperatures a bit better than average. Fun fact - 63 different Harriers have completed the course to date and have completed it a combined 128 times in total since it was setup up in July 2019.
đ´ó §ó ˘ó łó Łó ´ó ż Harriers looking for a good time headed to the front of the field. The quartet of Jack Arnold, Iain Carroll, Scott Mason and Fraser Armstrong led from the start and never wavered as they finished the leading four runners home. Stuart Miller and Greig Corr came in fifth and sixth to secure Harriers the top six places. Fantastic running!
đđť Kristina Greig, Emma Rogerson, Katherine Hylands and Claire McCormick kept up the good work and finished second, third, fourth and fifth females. Well done!
𤊠There were some stunning age-graded performances in the mix, led by Iain Carroll with an 84.23% - the highest in the field. In second place was Scott Mason with 80.49%. Followed by Li Wang with over 80.40% in third.
âą The ever-improving Fraser Armstrong had a very fine run to finish in fourth place with Katherine Hylands also scoring a fine PB. As always, many thanks to Drumpellier Parkrun volunteers for putting on the event and all other athletes who ran! We had a fantastic time and would recommend this as a real hidden gem of a Parkrun! đđť
